When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew chp16:13-19)
When we listen about the chair of St Peter we learn about how loyal he was to Jesus and stood beside him. St Peter was a person who made us understand the meaning of discipleship. His statement of knowing Christ told us that we should learn to be faithful in whatever we do so as to keep accepting challenges.
The parable said in Matthew chp16:13-19 also reminds us that whatever we do or gain on earth we will gain in heaven and whatever we loose on earth we loose in heaven. Every deed done by us is counted as we are the children of CHRIST. We should always remember the commandments and be trustworthy just like St. Peter.
Our every action is seen, if ever we get lost in the wilderness and ask pardon with true heart and mind we will be forgiven just like the prodigal son. All we need to do is spread the Word of God and become true disciples of Jesus.
