Cynthia Cabrera, a Filipino woman, who lives in an urban poor community in Manila, Philippines, finally fulfilled the challenge His Lordship Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of Manila had given her 10years ago, by presenting a stole made of scraps of cloth to the Cardinal. After years of hard work, Cynthia presented the recycled stole to the prelate of Manila at the end of the annual Philippine Conference on New Evangelization, on 30th July, 2017.

As reported by ucanews.com, Cynthia Cabrera recalled through a letter, which was read by His Eminence Cardinal Tagle, before about 6,000 participants, that “In 2007, Cardinal Tagle challenged me to make a stole for him out of scraps of cloth, and I said it would be heavy but the Cardinal told me not to worry about the weight because I would not be wearing it.”

Cabrera finished making the stole in 2009but didn’t know how to handle the stole to the Cardinal but finally, it reached its rightful recipient. His Eminence Cardinal Tagle pulled the stole from his bag and called Cabrera to the stage and the emotional encounter drew a lot of applause from the audience.
