Budapest: World champion Akos Wanek, from Hungary, has been baptized into the Catholic faith in a triathlon of different sporting events. Akos Vanek’s plan was to be baptized on Easter Day. However, because of the coronation scandal, the whole country was shut down, and she was baptized on Saturday. The Passara Franciscan Church in Budapest had obtained special permission from the authorities to baptize Akos Vanek.

Only a few Franciscan monks attended the ceremony. Akos Wanek won the 2014 Triathlon World Championships. But since then, Wanek has been saying goodbye to the sports world, openly claiming to have received God’s call. He joined the ambulance crew this past November as a volunteer. He has been in charge of transporting patients to various hospitals as corona has been confirmed by many in the country. In the meantime, he was inducted into the church.

Akos said that a friend of his, a Protestant pastor, offered him an ambulance for some time, so that he could be baptized in time. The church authorities in Budapest said that throughout the Holy Week, Pope Francis was baptized in accordance with the message of Pope Francis. Pope Francis has described doctors, nurses and other health workers who care for coronavirus patients as “near-saints.”
