Fr Anthony J Fernandes (52) from the Archdiocese of Bombay was appointed as the Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Laity. The appointment was made in the 79 Executive Committee meeting of the CCBI held on 1 May, 2018, Bangalore. Currently, he is the parish priest of St. Teresa’s Church, Girgaum, Mumbai and the Manager of St. Teresa’s School, Mumbai.
Fr Fernandes was the former Youth Director of the Bombay Archdiocese and the Executive Secretary of the Youth Commission of the Western Regional Bishops’ Council. He was ordained a priest on April 2, 2015. He served the Archdiocese of Bombay as the assistant Parish Priest at Our Lady of Lourdes Church–Orlem, Malad, Mumbai, Director of the Archdiocesan Youth Centre, Archdiocesan Vocation Promoter, Assistant at St Joseph’s Church, Goregaon, Mumbai, Member of the Commissions for Proclamation, Inter-Religious, Ecumenism and the Ecclesiastical advisor of the Women’s Commission.
