Thiruvananthapuram: Fr. Cardinal Mar Baselios Clemis, Major Archbishop of the Malankara Catholic Church, has demanded the immediate release of Fr. Stan Swamy, a social worker and Jesuit priest working among the tribals in Jharkhand. He was inaugurating the protest in front of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Pattom, led by the Malankara Catholic Youth Movement, Major Archdiocese, Thiruvananthapuram, against the arrest of Fr. Stan Swamy by the National Investigation Agency. He dedicated his life to the tribals. The cardinal called on the central government to implement Fr. Stan’s release immediately.
In all 217 units of the Major Archdiocese, the clergy, led by district vicars and district directors, at the same time carried out the protest in accordance with the Covid standards.
