Global Christian Church Council, a group of Christian denominations condemning the massacre in Nigeria, Syria, and Somalia. The Secretary-General of the World Council of Churches condemned the attacks. Dr. Olav Fixse called for the atrocities against innocent people in the name of any religion and that no religion should accept it. Olav Fixes declared that in all cases respect for human dignity would be promoted, as well as working to combat the hatred and intolerance behind the attacks. He strongly condemned efforts to divide the Nigerian people by turning Christians against Muslims.
The UN reports that more than 200,000 people have fled the Idlib region in the past two weeks. The Syrian people have already been subjected to much conflict, bloodshed, attacks, and displacement. The Global Christian Council calls for an end to violence to end the suffering of the people. Fixes reminded the victims of the tragic years of violence that it is a time for peace, rest, conversation and justice.
He has also condemned the December 28 bombing in the Somali capital of Mogadishu. The incident killed 76 people and injured 149. The impact of violent extremism is causing more suffering for the country. People were killed when everyday people used to shop to buy food and innocent people walked to safe places. He condemned the attacks by the World Christian Church Council (WCC) and urged everyone to strive for peace, justice, dignity, and freedom.
