The  ban  imposed  by  the  government  of  Philippines  on  keeping  religious  icons  like  the   rosary  in  vehicles ,  for  safe  driving ,  creates  conflicts  and  rebels  in  the  country.  The  government  is  believed  to  have  imposed  this  ban  due  to  their  latest  clash  between  Catholic  Churches  in  the  country.  The  majority  of  the  country  is  Catholics  and  thus  this  imposition  by  the  government  is  faced  by  the  people  with  great  revolts.

As  reported  by  the  Catholic  news  agency,  Fr.  Jerome  Secillano,  the  Executive  Secretary  of  public  affairs  at  the  Catholic  Bishop’s  Conference,  Philippines,  stressed  that ,  “This  is  an  over-reaction,  insensitive  and  lacks  common  sense.”  Further,  he  added,   “Most  drivers  feel  safer  with  religious  icons  in  their  vehicles ,  because  they  give  them  a  sense  of  divine  intervention  and  protection.”

The  Catholic  Churches  in  Philippines  have  spoken  against  the  new  rule  of  the  government  and  warned  that  none  of  the  faithful  would  be  accepting  the  ban.  As  reported  by  the  Catholic  news  agency ,  George  San  Mateo ,  the  president  of  Piston,  an  association  of  drivers  and  owners  remarked  that  “Do  not  meddle  with  the  drivers’  Faith  in  God.”
