The KCBC Ernakulam Regional Proliferation Committee said it was protesting against the amendment by the central government to permit the killing of infants up to 24 weeks of age in the womb. Regional President Johnson Abraham presided over a meeting held at Chavara Cultural Center, Ernakulam on February 1 to discuss the agitation in Muvattupuzha.
Regional Director Fr. Arun gave a big low-key introductory speech. The meeting said that the mandatory abortion law which existed till 1971 should be re-enforced. Secretary Joyce Mukkudam, Lisa Thomas, Tabby George, Renee Thomas, and Joseph Lopez spoke.
