The Department of Catechesis of Kalyan Eparchy conducted a retreat for the catechism teachers of the diocese on June 5. The retreat was conducted at ARC Panvel and was led by Fr. Thomas Valanmanal.
Teachers from all the 14 foranes in the diocese participated in the retreat where various points regarding student’s development and formation during catechism were discussed. Guidance regarding the new syllabus and assessment pattern was also discussed at the end of the session.
The Kalyan Catechism Department had successfully conducted online catechism for two years during the pandemic period. The classes will move to the offline mode from the academic year 2022- 23 with more emphasis on Habit Formation, Word of God, Church and Syro Malabar History.
