Holy Father Pope Francis, while addressing the faithful in St.Peter’s Square on 16th July 2017 at Vatican, Rome, reflecting on the day’s Gospel of the Parable of the Sower and Seeds, conveyed that Jesus Christ is the Sower who is awaiting his children to reclaim the soil of their hearts and His Holiness explained the true meaning of maintaining a holy and pure heart relating it to a fertile soil in which the Sower may sow seeds bearing good fruits and also conveyed the importance of Confession as a Sacrament to purify our hearts.
As reported by the Catholic News Agency, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that, “ Let us ask ourselves if our heart is open to welcome with Faith the seed of the Word of God and also ask ourselves if the rock of laziness are still large and numerous within us.” Further, His Holiness added, “ Our heart, like soil, can be good and then the Word brings so much fruit, but it can also be hard and impermeable.”
The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated on 16th July and thus Holy Father concluded his message by observing that “ Blessed Virgin Mary is unsurpassed in welcoming the Word of God and putting it into practice.
