- Budapest: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor plans to respond to climate change in a way that is based on Christian values. Viktor ‘s announcement of planting ten tree saplings in the name of each newborn child is gaining global attention. Orban’s announcement was made this past Sunday in his annual address to the nation. The announcement is part of the Hungarian government’s new Climate Action Plan. By 2030, the country’s forest wealth will increase by 27 percent, Orban said. Earlier, he pointed out that the population decline would cause the country’s Christian values to decline. Adding to this fact, the administration is pushing for tougher measures against global warming. Last month, he spoke of his climate plan as a democratic Christian way of combating global warming. He spends many of Orban’s policy projects as “Christian Democracy,” including anti-Muslim immigration. Hungary is now ruled by a government that prides itself on its Christian heritage under Orban and publicly declaring their faith in Jesus.
