Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), the youth wing of the Conference of Catholic Bishops’ of India (CCBI) has elected its first National Executive Committee (NEXCO) to guide and lead 40 lack plus Latin Catholic Youth of India. The first National Meet and its historic election took place on 15th January, 2018 at NBCLC, Bangalore. The gathering of 35 delegates from 12 regions across India was chaired by Most. Rev. Dr. Franco Mulakkal, the Chairman of CCBI Youth Commission along with Rev. Fr. Chetan Machado, the Commission Secretary.
As reported by Conference of Catholic Bishops of India CCBI (FB page), The newly elected President Mr. Percival explained his task as, “We have the responsibility of raising an entirely new generation in this current fast growing world where most of the youngsters are facing tremendous identity and existence crisis, to bring a revolution in their lives and to build a better nation, deep-rooted in Godliness”
This historic moment marks the beginning of a new legacy of leadership in the Catholic Church of India. Mr. Percival Holt, from Delhi, emerged out as the National President of ICYM- CCBI. Mr. Paul Jose from Kerala was elected the General Secretary, Mr. Sunil Dennis from Bangalore as the Treasurer, Mr. Sagar Gabbeta from Warangal as Vice President, Mr. Cledwyn Mathias from Mumbai as Vice President II, Ms. Shilpa Ekka from Odisha as Spokesperson, Mr. Sherwin Fernandez from Ajmer as Programme coordinator, Ms. Priyal Toppo from Jabalpur as Liturgy Head, Ms. Arohi Beck Raipur as Joint Secretary, Mr. John Praveen from Tamil Nadu as Joint Treasurer.
