Preparations have begun in Idukki diocese to welcome the newly appointed Bishop Mar John Nellikunnel. A Pastoral Council meeting was held in Vazhathope St. George Cathedral Parish Hall, in which each selected members were assigned with various works respectively in order to prepare arrangements for the big day!
The installation ceremony of the Bishop will be held on April 5, 2018. His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church will be the chief celebrant for the Holy Mass on that day. His Excellency Mar Soosa Pakiam, current Archbishop of the Latin Rite Archdiocese of Trivandrum, will address the faithful during the Holy Mass.
The new appointment of the Bishop was made public in Rome on Friday, 12th January, 2018, at noon local time, corresponding to 16:30 hours, Indian Standard Time.
