Rome: An interfaith prayer meeting was held in Rome for the protection and unity of constitutional values in India. About five hundred people, including clergy and nuns, attended the prayer at the Gregorian Pontifical University in Rome at 5 pm on February 21st. The prayers were held in the context of protests in India centered around the Citizenship Amendment Act.
The prayer began with the traditional song ‘Asatoma Satgamaya’ sung by the choir. Then there were readings from the holy books of various religions. The psalms are recited from the Bible. After each reading, silent meditation and hymns were sung. At the end of the prayer, the song Vaishnava Janata was sung by everyone.
He said that it was not for any party, community or organization but for the country. Xavier Joseph said. All of them signed a letter to the President of the country, the President of India, and the Indian Ambassador to Italy demanding the protection of the values of the Indian Constitution.
