In a statement released by the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, it was announced that the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress has been postponed to September 2021. It had been scheduled to take place in September 2020. The decision was made “because of the current health situation and its consequences for the movement and aggregation of the faithful and pilgrims”.
In his statement, Bruni notes that the decision was taken by Pope Francis together with the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic [BR1] Congresses and the Hungarian Episcopate.
