Tehran: Irani woman who was arrested from Tehran during an anti-government protests in January has been granted bail. Twenty-one-year-old Fateme Mohammedi, also known as Mary, has been granted bail from the Quarchak Woman Prison in a deserted desert in eastern Tehran, according to the International Christian Convention, which is monitoring the persecution of Christians based in the US. Amid speculation over the court’s refusal to post bail set at $ 2250, the bail has now come to an end after the arrest of Mohammedi’s ambiguities.

Mohammed was arrested on January 12. There was no information after his arrest. It is said that they were subjected to torture at the Quarchak women’s prison. Mohammedi was arrested from Tehran in protest against the government’s actions following the firing of Iranian aircraft carrying 176 passengers. It is uncertain whether Mohammed participated in the protest. He was charged with participating in an illegal rally and disrupting public life. At the same time, Mohammedi’s arrest has been seen as a provocation to renounce Islam and embrace Christianity.

In 2017, Mohammedi was arrested by police after he trespassed into a house of worship. Mohammed was released after spending nearly six months in Iran’s notorious Evin Prison. Last July, they were also arraigned on charges of misuse of the hijab. Mohammedi has dared to write open letters describing the atrocities he has suffered in prison, citing Iran’s intelligence minister Mahmoud Alawi’s crackdown on Christians. There are many stories of brutal persecution of Christians from the Islamic majority country of Iran.
