On  3rd  July  2017, William Edward Lori, Archbishop  of  Baltimore, conveyed  and  explained  the  relations  between  fear  and  freedom,  in  his  homily  at  the  closing  Mass  for  the  USCCB’s  Fortnight  for  Freedom, in Florida. Archbishop  William  Lori observed  that  an  encounter  with  Jesus Christ  can  set  humans  free  from  fear  and sins.

The  Mass  was  celebrated  on  the feast  of  St. Thomas  and  thus  Archbishop William Lori reflected the story of St. Thomas and  asked  the  faithful  to remain  in complete  faith .His Excellency  also  shared  his  own  life  experiences wherein  he  was  doubtful  about  various  things  in  life. As  stated  by  Catholic News Agency,  Archbishop  William  Lori  highlighted  that “The  theme  of  this  year’s  Fortnight   For  Freedom  was “Freedom For Mission”, of  which  St. Thomas  is  a  good  example,  Notice  that it  was  freedom  that  the  Lord  Jesus  set  Thomas  free.”

As  reported  by  the  catholic  news  agency, His  Excellency  concluded  by  quoting “ But  in  the  end  nothing will be  more  important  than evangelizing,  bearing witness , teaching  and  fulfilling  our mission  to love.”
