The Eparchy of Kalyan has decided to observe this year as the ‘Year of young spouses and working youth’, with an intention to bring them up and promote the younger generation of married and to be married session of faithful, closer to the Church, by highlighting their significance in the ministry. This initiative is been taken up by the diocese of Kalyan in association with Spouses for Christ Movement, Kalyan Eparchy Youth, Jesus Youth and Jesus Nurses Fraternity.
The main goals of this initiative also include: to get to know and gather the young spouses and working youth together for possible spiritual and other required support to them, for the constructive contribution from the part of working youth and young spouses for the growth of the Church, to make sure that there is a continuous and cordial relationship of working youth and young spouses with the parish community and the parish priest.
To observe this year dedicated for the young spouses and working youth, the diocese of Kalyan has put forth some effective suggestions:
1] They(working youth and young spouses) are to be gathered at parish level for bigger parishes and Forane level for the smaller parishes.
2] Single spouses should receive more compassion and understanding from the parish.
3] Sunday evening mass would enable greater participation for the working section.
4] Appointing a Forane level coordinator for working youth especially Nurses.
5] The Parish priest can urge young spouses to participate by visiting their homes.
6] Those Churches having grounds should enable sports activities for children.
7] It is essential that session for parents of young spouses is conducted in every parish during the year.
