“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.” (Luke 4:18)
The Chrism Mass is one of the most solemn and important liturgies of the liturgical year. Kalyan diocese gracefully celebrated the Chrism Holy Mass in St. Thomas Cathedral Church, Kalyan, on 15th April 2019. His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal of the Kalyan diocese was the celebrant in the solemn mass.
All the priests of the Kalyan Diocese and the faithful participated in the Holy Mass and services. His Excellency Bishop, in his sermon, encouraged the faithful ‘to have a beautified life with grace and anointment in Jesus Christ.’
The Chrism mass means the blessing of the Holy Oil which is used in the sacraments of initiation – Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
