A young martyr, who fought the Sino Indian feud in the previous days was given a farewell by the Christian community of Kandhamal, a small village in Orissa on 20th June. Chandrakanth Pradhan (28) was the soldier who hailed from Kandhamal, a place otherwise known for its christian persecution. Fr. Prabhod, the Vicar of Raikia Church, also a close relative of Pradhan stated that there has never been a funeral, more dreadful than this. The funeral took place in a specially arranged part of the Church, which is known as the Cathedral of Kandhamal.
The body was bought in the morning. After the public procession, the funeral services took place in Raikia Church.
