KARACHI: New Year’s message from Karachi Archbishop Joseph Kautz reminds the world what it is like to keep the peacekeepers. The Archbishop specially commemorated Pope Francis’ theme of peace, a foundation of dialogue, reconciliation, and ecological repentance, as the theme of the World Peace Day, on the Divine Sacrifice delivered at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on January 1. No one can truly achieve peace unless there is open dialogue between men and women who seek the truth despite their different ideologies and opinions.

The world does not need empty words, but rather convincing witnesses, peacemakers, and open debates with no excuses or manipulations. Peace is a building that must be constantly built. Today’s world needs opportunities like brothers to live together and to invite everyone to learn the values. It is important to adopt a ‘culture of dialogue’ and to end the war, to avoid conflicts, environmental degradation, and moral and cultural collapse that the world faces.

On April 11, Archbishop Pope Francis commemorated Pope Francis kneeling before the leaders of South Sudan and meeting with Al-Azhar’s imam in Abu Dhabi in February and signing the historic ‘Fraternal Order of Humanity’. The Archbishop urged the pope to remind us that if we want to attain peace, peace is possible, and that we should work together for peace and mutual love, to remove hatred from our hearts.
