Karunya Trust, the social working wing of the Kalyan Diocese gracefully marked Project-Savli’s annual day celebration –‘Savli Mauli’ on 15th November, 2018 at St. Xavier’s High School and Junior College, Kanjurmarg West. His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal of Kalyan Diocese graced the occasion with his presence. Ms Ruchi Khemka, Head- Corporate Social Responsibility- Deutsche Bank, was the chief guest for the event and Mr. Ravi Kandpal, Director- Operations- Deutsche Bank, was the special guest.
His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal appreciated the children and organizers for their efforts and enthusiasm to bring good changes in the society. The Bishop also expressed gratitude to the team Savli for their works. During the event, he launched the third edition of ‘tHE tAKE oFF’, the newspaper made by the children of Savli (Children’s Parliament) and handed the first copy to Ms. Ruchika Khemka. Ms Ruchika told the children to “never give up doing good things in life for the society even if you have to fight alone in the battle.” Mr Sarjerao Sonawane, Deputy Collector- Mumbai Suburban District, underlined the significance of mental health and exhorted children to have a habit of reading.

The cultural programmes in the event made it a visual treat for everyone who attended it. Mr. Sarjerao Sonawane, Deputy Collector- Mumbai Suburban District, Mr. Santoshkumar Dhonde, Assistant Commissioner ‘S’ ward, Mr. Sandeep Thorat, Tahsildar- Kural Thesil, Dr. Aruna Jadhav, Tahsildar, SGY- Kurla Thesil and Mr. Madhukar Bhodke, Deputy Controller of Rationing- E Region, Mumbai, were the guests of honor for the event.
