Kochi: The KCYM state committee celebrated Republic Day on January 26, calling for the repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act, spearheaded by the central government, which is destroying the integrity and secular nature of the country. KCYM is a church in 32 Catholic dioceses in Kerala. The State Committee called for the raising of the National Flag, Unity of Persons, Faith and reading the Preamble to the Constitution, Promising Constitutional Protection Pledges and holding awareness rallies. In a statement, KCYM state general secretary Kristi Chakkalakkal said that diocesan committees should make necessary arrangements to ensure that the Constitution day is observed in all parishes.
