Zambia, Africa: the Italian government has honored a nun of Kerala descent for her dedicated service in the African country of Zambia. Rev. Sr. Sangeetha Cheruvallil SCCG (Ancy Mathew) was recognized by the Italian State Honour. She belongs to Erattupetta in Kerala. The government awarded her with the status of the Stella the Italiastar of Italy, for her undying services. The Italian Attorney General in Zambia, Antonio Maggiore felicitated the nun with the memento and the Letter of Appreciation. 

Sr. Sangeetha is the eldest daughter of Cheruvallil Augustine and Annakutty. She completed her studies , to join the Chirundu Hospital in Zambia that comes under the governance of the Sisters of Charity congregation based in Italy. Following her studies in the Kolkata Province, she moved to Zambia in 2001, where she serves until today. 

The hospital is a relief for the families residing in the economically backward areas in Zambia. As per reports, other hospitals in the region are situated 140 kilometers away from where the Sisters of Charity run hospital is situated. Chirundu Hospital was established in 1968 and even today it serves the impoverished society with much zeal and virtue.
