Nedumbassery: Catholic nuns sponsored plane tickets for poor expatriates who want to come home from abroad. MLA Anwar Sadat said that the poor expatriates will be repatriated through sponsorship. St. Teresa Convent in Kariyadu in Nedumbassery panchayat donated Rs. 15000 for the same.
At the convent, the MLA received the money from Mother Superior Sister Joyce Chittilapilli. Assistant Superior Sister Rosalie Kolenchery, Proctor Sister Jane Edattil, and former Panchayat Member PY Eldo were also present. The MLA wrote on Facebook that he especially appreciates the compassionate Sisters and motivated others to do the same. He also noted that many charitable works are being carried out under the leadership of the Convent of St. Teresa.
