Holy Father Pope Francis while addressing the faithful gathered at St. Peter’s Square, Vatican, for Sunday Holy Mass, conveyed the significance of being generous in life, reflecting on the day’s Gospel reading from the book of Matthew -20:1-16 which highlights “Thus, the last will be first, and first will be last.” His Holiness also exhorted the faithful to stay humble in success without being envious and proud and highlighted that in heaven all are equal, called to do their own parts in life.
As reported by Vatican radio, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “In the Kingdom of God, there are no idle hands, all are called to do their part; and for all, at the end, the recompense shall be what comes from divine justice- not human justice, happily.” Further, His Holiness added, “The salvation that Jesus Christ has acquired with His death and resurrection is a salvation that is not merited, but given, for which, ‘the last shall be first, and the first shall be last’”
His Holiness reminded the faithful the importance of being humble in order to receive the Kingdom of God and urged the pilgrims to be generous.
