Thiruvananthapuram: The Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram released a pastoral letter in order to confirm the health situation of Latin Archbishop Dr. M Soosa Pakiam. The Auxiliary Bishop his excellency R. Christudas mentioned that the former was rushed initially to Jubilee Hospital and then to KIMS hospital, at the last phase of his journey back home from Rome. Previously, a letter was issued by the Archdiocese to confirm the news of archbishop Pakiam being hospitalized. The current letter, however, mentions that the archbishop is out of danger and has been removed from Ventilator support. He also mentioned that the bishop has been receiving Holy Communion in the past few days.
As per reports from the doctors, he must stay under observation in the Intensive Care Unit for a few more days. Thereafter, archbishop Pakiam is advised complete bed rest for quite a few weeks. Since his eminence lacks the immunity to fight the infection-causing pathogens, the doctors have recommended very little visitors for the next few months.
Auxiliary Bishop has urged the faithful to understand the sensitivity of the condition and pray continuously. He mentioned his word of thanks to all those who visited the Archbishop, also the faithful whose prayers have worked wonders along with the efforts of the expert specialists teams of both the private hospitals. He concluded the letter requesting everyone to pray for the Archbishop’s speedy and complete recovery.
