The brutal abortion genocide in India was legally sanctioned on August 10, 1971, in complete disregard for life. Abolition of abortion for up to twenty weeks of age Over 30 billion babies have been killed by embryos in India since then. According to the International Pro-life Organization, Human Life International, last year, 1.56 million babies were born in India alone.
Nowadays, 49 years after the legalization of abortion in India, we are witnessing the news that our government is preparing to open up a new avenue for abortion and show the green light for the massacre. The Cabinet yesterday approved a bill to amend the half-century-old Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act of 1971, which could result in the deaths of babies up to six months in abortion.
Abortion is currently only approved for up to 20 weeks. However, the new amendment proposes brutal manslaughter for up to 24 weeks. The government is no longer obliged to enforce the law that permits the tearing of the baby to remain in full growth. It is the duty of each of us to protest against this cruel and inhumane action in the most extreme of circumstances.
Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Krishnan Nair have called for the repeal of the MTP Act. Please sign the petition in an online petition to Harsha Vardhan and National Human Rights Commission Secretary-General Jaideep Govind. Together, let us respond to this inhuman slaughter.
