New Delhi: Vice Chairman of the National Minority Commission George Kurien has demanded a national-state investigation into the Syro-Malabar Synod’s assessment of Christian girls trying to lure them into terrorism. The National Minority Commission of Kerala has asked the Kerala DGP to submit a report within 21 days on the complaint that the Kerala Police did not act with due diligence despite repeated complaints. He has also asked the central government to investigate the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
In a statement, he said that it was shocking to find that at least half of the 21 people who went to Syria to join the terror group, the IS, had converted to Christianity. George Kurien has called for the involvement of the Union Home Ministry in the alleged love jihad scandal in Kozhikode and Delhi last September. He said that the Center had made a strong intervention in this regard. The Synod, which took place from January 10th to 15th, was a shocking revelation that Christian jihadist Islamic groups are conducting love jihad in Kerala.
