The Malankara Catholic Church in the UK conducted a 13-hour Eucharistic observance of Pope Francis’ prayer for the world to be free from the devastation of the coronation. Adoration services were held from Thursday morning at 9 o’clock. The Day of Prayer started with the Mass at 10 pm and ended with a special Eucharistic blessing of the Malankara Order.
The 13-hour worship, which began on the morning of May 13, the feast day of Mother Fatima, was the experience of great grace. The church’s 18 mission groups led prayers at various times. Many believers participated in the Eucharistic worship online. The active participation of young people and children has provided great hope to the faith community even in the face of adversity. Fr. Renjith Madathirambil, Fr. John Alex led the prayers throughout the worship. Pope Francis reminded us of the illumination of Christ received by us, Fr. Thomas exhorted the believers in the Madikamoodu Mutt message.
Funeral services were held in the presence of Fr. Matthew Neriyatl led. The Ecumenical Eucharistic Worship was an affirmation of the commitment and solidarity of the Malankara Fellowship with the general public in the UK who are suffering the most of the tragic consequences of the Kovid pestilence. These services were blessed by the head of the Malankara Catholic Church, Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Clemis Bawa, and the Apostolic Visitor Mar Theodosius.
