Following the COVID 19 outbreak in Rome, a Malayalee Franciscan nun was called to the heavenly abode. Sister Jessie, daughter of Chakkunni and Annam, a member of the Archdiocese of Thrissur and a member of the Pulakattukara Karmala Matha Parish, passed away yesterday due to cancer. Sister, who has served as General Counsel and General Procurator of the Sisters of St. Francis Congregation, has been in treatment for a long time. It was in Rome that Sister Jessie completed her monastic training and was ordained. In 2008, she served as administrator of the Villa Batavia Hospital in Rome.
