On  June  28 2017, a 32  year  old  man,  Michael  Tate  Reed  plowed  his  car  into  the  10 commandments’  statue  and  destroyed  the  same  that  was  placed  outside  the  state  Capitol  of  Arkansas,  the  southern  US  State.  Reed  tags  himself  as  a  born-again  Christian  and  a “Pentecostal  Jesus  Freak”.  It  is  the  second  time  that  Reed  has  been  accused  of  demolishing  the  10  commandments  statue.

The  Associated  Press  identified  that  Reed  was  the  same  person  who  demolished  the  statue  of  10  commandments  in  October  2014. In  the  first  attempt  Reed  called  himself  as  a  Satanist  and  remarked  that  he  did  the  evil  act  because  Satan  told  him  to  do  so  but  catholic  news  agency  reported  that   later  in  a  letter  to  Tulsa  World,  Reed  apologized  by  saying  , “  I  am  so  sorry  that  this  is  all  happening  and  I  wished  I  could  take  it  all ”,  He  continued , “ I  had  a  psychotic  break  that  drove  me  to  destroy  the  monument.”

Reed  was  caught  and  is  in  Pulaski  Country  Detention  Centre  under  the  charges  of  criminal  trespassing,  defacing  an  object  of  public  interest  and  first  degree  criminal  mischief  for  demolishing  the  monument , the  second  time . The  reason  behind  his  second  attempt  to  destroy  the  statue  of  10  commandments  is  not  yet  known.
