Thiruvananthapuram: Senior clergyman of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Maniketot Geevarghese Cor Episcopa (80) has passed away. The body will be brought to Manchadimukkum Enaath at 6 pm. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm tomorrow at St. Ignatius Malankara Catholic Church, Manjadimukku. Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis Catholic will officiate.
After completing his clergy training at St. Aloysius Seminary and Pune Papal Seminary, Major Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram, he was ordained priest on 21 September 1967 from Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. He was educated in philosophy and served as secretary to Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios, Rector of St. Aloysius Seminary, Vicar of the Diocese of Thiruvananthapuram, Kaliyakavila and Pathanamthitta. He led the Catholic Church in the United States for a long time. In 1996 the core was upgraded to Episcopa.
