While addressing the faithful gathered in the Pope Paul VI Hall of the Vatican, Holy Father Pope Francis conveyed the significance of hope in Christianity, especially in the sacrament of Baptism, which orients a faithful towards the light of Christ. His Holiness reminded the pilgrims about the importance of having hope in the light of Christ even in the midst of darkness.

As reported by Catholic News Agency, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “In our Baptisms today there is a beautiful sign of the lit baptismal candle, showing the importance of light and now the life of the Church is contamination of light.” Further, His Holiness asked, “I would like to ask you: how many of you remember the date of your Baptism? I instruct you to ask it to your mom, aunt, grandpa, grandmom, and Dad and ask them and do not forget it because that is the date of rebirth, is the date of light in which we have been contaminated by the light of Christ.”

Holy Father Pope  Francis concluded by reminding the faithful that “This is our hope: living in hope and living in the light, in the light of God the Father, in the light of Jesus the Savior, in the light of the Holy Spirit that drives us to move on in life.”
