Holy Father Pope Francis, while addressing the faithful gathered in the celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, on 15th August, 2017, conveyed the significant role of Mother Mary in bringing Christ to the world through which Mary showed the true meaning of joy and grace. His Holiness called Mary as the model of faith and virtue and also explained the importance of being humble in life.
As reported by Catholic News Agency, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “Carrying Jesus, Mother Mary brings us a new joy, full of meaning; she brings us a new ability to pass with faith through the most painful and difficult moments; she brings us the capacity for mercy, forgiveness, understanding and supporting one another.” Further, His Holiness added, “The humble person is strong because they are humble, not because they are powerful and magnificent prayer is an expression of mercy and fidelity, as well as God’s plan for salvation, which he carries out with the little ones and poor, with those who have faith in him.”
His Holiness concluded the Angelus address by offering a special prayer for all those who are suffering due to various global situations.
