Kochi: Matilda Johnson, a member of the Diocese of Iringalakuda, recorded a new history in the Logos Bible Quiz, which was attended by about half a million people. Matilda holds the record for being the youngest person in the history of the largest Bible quiz in the country. Since the age of six, Matilda has been an active participant in Bible competitions and has repeatedly been ranked number one in the diocese. Matilda says her dream is to study the Bible in Rome.
Matilda, a fifth-grader, is the daughter of Johnson and Alphonsa, Aloor Kainadathuparampil. Matilda worked hard when she realized that her dream of moving to the Holy Land could be realized if Logos was won. Father Johnson said that Matilda, who used to go to church every day, would read the Bible and Bible-based texts whenever she had time.
The mega-final of the Logos event was held at Palarivattom PO with the first-place winners of six age categories. Matilda received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. Matilda testifies to the world that there is no age barrier to the study of the Holy Scriptures.
