Thiruvalla: Divya P, a monastery student, and daughter of John Philip, 21, died of drowning. Divya was taken out of the well near the convent at around 11.30 am yesterday. The sixth-year student in her ascetic training attended the Holy Mass in the chapel on the day of the incident; officials said they had just had breakfast and continued to class.
When the other nuns heard the sound from the well behind the monastery, they saw Divya drowning in it. With the help of locals and firefighters, she was immediately rushed to Pushpagiri Medical College but was unable to save her life. The monastery Mother Superior Sister Georgia said that Divya did not show any problems, either mentally or physically. Father John Philipos is a CRPF officer in Hyderabad. Mother: Kochumol.
