Jerusalem: More than 150,000 pilgrims visit the Holy Land Jerusalem this Christmas season. It is estimated that about 165,000 visitors will be visiting Jerusalem this Christmas holiday. As usual, the Ministry of Tourism is giving a welcome visit to the holy land to celebrate Christmas. Various Christian church leaders, diplomatic representatives and leaders of Christian organizations in Israel will attend the event.
The preparations for the arrival of Christmas were almost complete in Jerusalem. The Ministry of Tourism has arranged a free shuttle from Jerusalem to Bethlehem for the convenience of visitors the night before Christmas and Christmas Day. Hundreds of believers are looking forward to attending the annual Christmas Tree Returning Ceremony.
The Christmas Tree will unfold in front of the Temple, where Jesus Christ is believed to have been born. Meanwhile, the Tourism Department estimates that more than half (55%) of the tourists who visited Israel this year are Christians. From the beginning of this month to the end of January next year, it is estimated that of the 165,000 visitors expected to visit Israel, 43% are Catholic, 31% are Protestant, and 24% are Orthodox.
The West Wall, Via Dolorosa, and Olive Mount are the favorite places for Christians visiting Jerusalem. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, nearly 47 million visitors visited Israel this year, breaking previous records.
