The Eparchy of Kalyan conducted ‘Armonia 2018’ for all the enthusiastic and creative mothers of the diocese to showcase their talents on the stage on 18th November, 2018, at Animation and Renewal Centre (ARC), Panvel. The word ‘Armonia’ derived from Spanish means “Harmony of people’s opinions or actions or characters”. The event was organized by the Kalyan Mathrusangham. His Grace Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal appreciated and encouraged all the participants. Fr. Benny is the director of Kalyan Mathrusangham and Mrs. Usha Paul is the president.
His Excellency Bishop Mar Thomas Elavanal reflected on His Holiness Pope John Paul II’s words: “The best gift that a child can get from God is a loving mother.” The Bishop highlighted that “God himself comes down and expresses his love for the child through a good mother. A mother is a powerful medium through which God expresses his love.”
The programs on the list included street plays and margamkali. In Margamkali, Infant Jesus Church- Khargar grabbed the first prize, St. Alphonsa Forane Church, Kalewadi won the second position, St. Thomas Catholic Church, Mira Road, was awarded with the third prize, San Jos Church, Wagle Estate won the fourth prize, St. Thomas Cathedral Church, Kalyan West, won the fifth prize. In Street Play, Infant Jesus Church, Khargar, won the first prize, the second position was awarded to St. Thomas Catholic Forane Church, Borivli, Immaculate Conception Church, Dombivli won the third prize, Holy Trinity Church, Thane West, won the fourth prize and the fifth prize was grabbed by St. Joseph’s Church, MC Road.
