Father Dominic Ko, the parish priest for Korean Catholics in Istanbul, Turkey, during his visit to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, conveyed the importance of taking care of refugee children who are going through the most difficult stages in their life and asked the faithful to keep them in prayers so that they may not fall into distractions and depressions in life by going astray.
As reported by ucanews.com, Fr. Dominic remarked that “If we neglect the anger, horror and fear that refugee children feel, there will appear a second Islamic State.” Further, he added, “The children will return to Syria and rebuild the country and so if we leave their trauma as it is, they will grow up into another form of Islamic State.”
Father Dominic Ko also stressed on the significance of education for refugee children in order to heal themselves and to encourage them to have a dream and hope for future.
