Bengaluru: The New Dictionary for the Latin Church of India has been released. The three-volume New English Dictionary has been released at the CCBI Thirty-Two Plenary Conference held at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Archbishop of Bombay Oswald Gracias issued the first copy of the Vatican Nuncio Archbishop Jambatista Dikwatro in India. The cardinal said that this new letter is an invitation to deepen our understanding of God’s Word and thereby be actively and completely convinced in worship.

CCBI President Archbishop Philippe Ferrao said that the launch of the new lexicon was a major milestone in the history of the Indian Church. The lexicon will officially begin its worship service on August 5 this year. The New English Dictionary has been prepared according to the Indian Calendar of Worship. The Dictionary is prepared with special readings for the various rituals, the sacred feasts of the saints of India, the commemorations and the sacrificial offerings for the country.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Iris Fernandez and Nigel Fernandez, CEO of Asian Trading Corporation presented the lecture before the bishops. The Archbishop of CCBI Vice-President, Dr. George Anthony Swamy, Secretary-General, Archbishop Dr. Anil Kutko, Chairman, Liturgy Commission; Peter Paul Saldana. Deputy Secretary-General Stephen Alathara was also present at the event.
