Kakkanad: The new bishops have been appointed by the bishop of the Syro-Malabar Church at the decision of the Synod of the Church. The President of the Eastern Academy and the Director of the Eastern Canaanite Law Institute have been appointed to one of their positions. The appointment of the chairmen of the Major Seminary of the Syro-Malabar Synod was announced yesterday for three major seminaries across Kerala. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Paalamuttil was appointed rector of St. Joseph’s Pontifical Seminary, Mangalapuzha. Rev. Fr. Dr. Scaria Kanyakonil as the rector of St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathur. Thalassery Kunnoth Major Seminary received Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Chanukkuzhyil. Syro Malabar Church Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry made the announcements yesterday.
