Thalassery: Thalassery Archdiocese says that the Indian Express newspaper had written about the Gabriel Army in the wrong context. At Kannur in December, the meeting of the retired military servicemen of the north Malabar Association was formed to serve the diocese for maintaining peace and tranquility.
North Malabar Farmer’s campaign is organized under the leadership of the Thalassery board to bring the problems in the agriculture sector. The Independent farmers’ movement of Kannur Kasaragod district are part of this. On October 13th, two and half lakh farmers participated in the protests that happened in 13 villages. The preparations of farmers meeting, in which ten thousand farmers are expected to participate in Kannur in the coming December is progressing. As part of this, various communities are formed. The Committee including retired soldiers and police who were retired in the city has been formed. This is a group of volunteers to adjust to discipline and public. Army is not formed as a fighter gang as told in Indian Express, instead, the archdiocese negates this news as totally untrue and misleading. This news comes as a diversion to the existing farmers’ issues by the hands of the media who are trying to destroy the increasing popularity of the farmers. A strong protest against the people who gave false news against the church is undertaken by the faithful. They demand that the newspaper organization should take strict action against the reports created by fake news.
