Vatican City: Pope Francis will have lunch with 100,000 poor people on Sunday, November 17, the global day for the poor. The Pope will have lunch with them at 10 o’clock in the morning after the Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. Participants are from the diocese of Rome and Italy. NGOs and church fraternities, with representation at the diocese, local and international levels, will participate in the papal sacrifice.
The Vatican Council for the New Evangelization is preparing for the global day of the poor. The theme of this time is chosen as the Psalm of the poor who never loses hope. On the eve of the Jubilee Year of Mercy in 2016, Pope Francis initiated the observance of the World Day for the Poor. It is getting bigger and better each year.
