Nuns of Daughters of St.Paul Congregation in the Philippines have adopted a new way to evangelize the young minds of the country, through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Infiltrate and Instagram. Daughters of St.Paul Congregation observed that the young people are more interested in social connectivity and thus this interest may lead them to spread the word of God through Social Medias and thus the nuns admitted that the church needs to keep up with young technology-savvy people to proclaim the Gospel conveniently through the developing technologies.
As reported by ucanews.com, Sister Gemma Ria delaCruz, a member of the Daughters of St.Paul Congregation in the Archdiocese of Palo in the central Philippines remarked that “It’s really challenging and the young people these days talk about themselves and that’s where we come in.” Further, she added, “If you’re in social media, you post a single verse or teaching, and if you’ve 2000 friends, that’s enough.”
Daughters of St.Paul congregation believe that while leading a religious life, they shouldn’t be closing their minds to social issues.
