In contrast to the usual Italian news channels, yesterday (03.04.2020), a video message was broadcast by Pope Francis. Thousands at the dinner table at home stopped eating and listened to the words of their beloved pope. The eyes of many were winking. Pope Francis’s message to believers around the world is as follows:
Dear Friends, “Bona Sera” (Good Evening)! I see this as an opportunity for me to break into your homes this evening as usual. If you let me, I’d like to talk to you a little bit. In these days of loneliness of suffering and suffering in order to survive the corona, I can imagine the discomfort of children who cannot go to school in your home, and adolescents who are unable to return to their lifestyles. I hold in my heart all the families, especially those who were sick with coronavirus, the many individuals who died of this epidemic, and the painful loved ones in their separation.
I always remember these days that there are people who are sad and helpless. They are going through a very difficult reality. In particular, my dear old people … as well as some of the best I can forget are those who are hospitalized with coronavirus, and many doctors, nurses, and other people who work hard day and night to care for them.
I pray for those who are financially unable to work and pray for their brothers who are in various jails. Certainly, these days of the epidemic are very difficult for each of us. I know some people find it very hard these days. This is what I want to tell you with these words – I’m with you.
