Rome: The National Bishops’ Council has decided to submit to the Mother of God the request of the faithful in Italy, who took the lives of thousands of Covid. On May 1st, Italian bishops will dedicate the country to the protection of the Holy Virgin Mary at the Santa Maria del Fonte Basilica in the province of Bergamo. Bergamo is the place where many coronavirus cases are registered. Cardinal Gualtiro Bassetti, chairman of the Italian Bishops’ Council, said that these days he received more than three hundred letters from believers expressing his devotion and love to his mother.
Shepherds are usually responsible for guiding believers, but often believers are told what to do. The Cardinal said that this is what has happened here. In a press release issued on April 20, the bishop said the decision to dedicate Italy to her mother was “the first month of the month.
The Italian bishops said in a press release that since it is the feast day of St. Joseph’s, those with work concerns can seek the intercession of the saint. The bishop added that patients, health workers, doctors, families and the deceased would be dedicated to their mother. The committee said the Santa Maria del Fonte Church in Bergamo itself had been chosen for the dedication of the Marian community because of the stigma surrounding a population suffering from the coronavirus.
The Santa Maria del Fonte shrine was built in the 15th century at the site of Marianism. The Mother of God appears to the girl, Jeannette Varoli, on the twenty-sixth of May, 1432. The Virgin Mary prescribed Friday fasting and other atonement sins. First, a small shrine was built on the spot where his mother appeared. One hundred years later, the shrine was rebuilt in 1575 by the Bishop of Milan, Saint Charles Baromio.
