LONDON: England’s cathedral has seen a huge influx of pilgrims over the past year, according to figures released Monday. During this period, over one billion people visited various cathedral shrines in the country. This is an increase of 10 percent over the previous year. Estimates suggest that more than one million people visited the famous Westminster Cathedral. The number of believers attending the Easter rituals has also increased dramatically.
Nearly 60,000 believers have flocked to various cathedrals across the country to attend Easter rituals. The number of people who attend church during Holy Week is 95,000. It is interesting to note that in the last decade, 2018 has been a record for mass participation. The number of Christmas-related events has increased by five percent over the previous year.
