PALA: The Pala Diocese has accused the media of misrepresenting social media and channels in the wake of a newspaper advertisement in several leading newspapers in Kerala for the sale of a few places owned by the Pala Diocese. The diocese has released its explanatory note, which focuses on misleading interpretations. The memo states that Mar Sliwa Medici was started at the Cherupunkal Palace by the diocese with the intention of providing better treatment facilities to the people.

Three hundred crores have already been spent. This amount was raised with the help of a bank loan in the event that it became necessary after the generous donations and cooperation of the public, parishes, dedicated communities, and institutions. In this hospital, the palliative block is specially organized to provide free treatment to dying patients. Along with this is the multi-year socially sponsored scheme, the Pala Caritas, the Home Pala Project, the Family Assistance Fund and the various welfare schemes implemented by the Pala Social Welfare Society.

According to the proposed committees, some places will be sold as soon as possible to repay some of the bank loans taken so far for the construction and operation of the hospital. The matter was discussed in the Diocese Finance Committee and the Diocesan Advisory Committee and the decision was taken and presented to the diocese concert and clergy.

A five-member committee has been appointed, including the Alamir, to handle the sales matters. Against this backdrop, the sale of these places was advertised in the newspaper. These things are done by following all procedures. The diocese said in a statement that the diocese had already acquired thirty-two acres of land for Mar Sliwa Medici when considering the sale of about six acres.
