Warsaw: Polish President Andrzej Duda prayed at the Marian Pilgrimage to seek the Mother of God in the wake of the spread of coronavirus. The President prayed for the Polish people and the citizens of other countries for their work and study. He came to the pilgrimage praying to the heavenly protection of the country. He also attended evening prayers at the shrine.

‘Jasna Gore’ is the shrine where the ‘Our Lady of Zestochowa’ or ‘Black Madonna’ is painted by Saint Luca. The image of the four-foot tall Virgin Mary preserved here is still revered by the country. In 2017, the country has issued a special currency to mark the third anniversary of the coronation of the Black Madonna, known as the Protector of Poland. Catholic believer Andrzej Duda was also present to attend the ceremony at Ann’s Church. Catholics make up about 85 percent of Poland’s total population.
